Common questions

Which iPhones are supported?

Any iPhone running iOS 18 or later. On iPhones with an ultra-wide lens you also get 0.5×. On iPhones with a 48 MP main camera, photos at 1× are captured at full resolution.

Where do my photos and videos go?

Each shot saves as two items in your Photos library, a portrait frame and a landscape frame. The PortScape gallery shows them side by side as a pair.

How do I change the frame shapes?

Tap the ratio buttons on the camera screen, or open Settings (the gear icon). Pick one shape for the portrait frame, such as 9:16 for Reels, and one for the landscape frame, such as 16:9 for YouTube.

What do the lime and violet outlines mean?

Lime shows what the portrait frame will capture and violet shows the landscape frame. Keep your subject inside both.

The app says it needs access. How do I turn permissions back on?

Open the iPhone Settings app, scroll to PortScape, and turn on Camera and Microphone, and set Photos to Full Access or Limited Access. Then go back to PortScape.

Can I edit a shot after taking it?

Yes. Open a pair in the gallery, choose the portrait or landscape frame, and tap Edit to crop, rotate, flip or adjust it.

Does PortScape upload my photos anywhere?

No. Nothing leaves your iPhone unless you share it yourself. See the Privacy Policy.
